Students of Classes I to V are given Orient Blackswan fiction and non-fiction reading cards. After reading, they narrate the story in their own words, followed by a Question–Answer session to check comprehension.
Children’s magazines such as Magic Pot, Champak, Children’s Digest, Highlight Genies, and Highlight Champs are distributed for reading. Students enjoy completing activities like solving word puzzles with clues, tracing paths, and picture-based tasks.
Students of Classes VI to IX receive magazines such as Tell Me Why, GK Refresher, CSR, Tinkle, and Champak. They read interesting articles and short stories and narrate them to the class.
From GK magazines, students prepare questions and ask them to their classmates. Anyone can answer, and the students who answer the most questions correctly are honoured at the end of the period.
Book Talk sessions are conducted during library periods, where students speak about the books they enjoyed and motivate others to read.
Smart Quiz is conducted for Classes V to XII. Five GK questions are displayed on the Bulletin Board daily, and students answer them during break time. Students who give all or maximum correct answers are selected as winners. All winners are honoured in the Monday assembly by the Principal, which encourages active participation.
Quiz on English and Maths is conducted. Three questions from each subject are displayed daily. Students submitting the maximum correct answers are honoured in the Monday assembly.
Students from Class VI onwards borrow books from the library, which helps them strengthen their reading habits.
Reading Challenge is organised during break time for groups of students. They choose a storybook or novel and challenge one another to finish the book first. Students who complete the books early are honoured during library periods.
The library provides a wide range of reference books for Classes IX to XII. These books support board exam preparation and are also useful for JEE, NEET, and Olympiad preparation.
During News Reading Sessions, students are divided into groups and collect news from newspapers. Each student reads the news aloud, and the best reader and best news selection are honoured at the end of the period.
The Quiz Club assigns topics like Olympics, Sports, Personalities, and Monuments a week in advance.
Special coaching in quiz is conducted by expert quiz masters on the second and fourth Saturdays to strengthen students’ quiz skills. Students participate in various quiz competitions and have won several prizes, bringing pride to the school.
Online examinations such as Bebras and SAFAL are conducted to enhance logical thinking and academic performance.
Students confidently act as comperes for school programmes and showcase their talents during assemblies.
